If you're visiting Vermont this Memorial Day weekend, chances are you'll pass by Quechee, Vt which is in the middle of the state, right off the I 91 / I 89 intersection.
If you do, consider veering off the highway just a mile or two for a relaxing and delicious lunch at Simon Pearce Restaurant.
This is the location of some of Hurricane Irene's worst devastation but you'd never know it now. Simon and family have worked non-stop to get their flagship store and restaurant back into tiptop shape and it's just as spectacular as it ever was.
Well worth the trip, as you might guess by the looks of these two agreeable dining companions of mine.
